The conspirators, who feared that Caesar might become the King of Rome, assassinated him on the Ides of March (March 15) in 44 BC. On this unfortunate day, Caesar had to attend a Senate session at the Theater of Pompey. A frightened Liberator, named Servilius Casca, had informed Mark Antony about the plot a night before.
