Japan Automotive History

There is one thing that Japan is very famous for and it is cars. Japan has had a very rich automotive history and even today cars like Toyota are most driven around the world. The automobiles from Japan have been known for their reliability and stability.

The Japanese automotive industry is a thriving and flourishing industry and it is considered to be one of the most profitable businesses across the world in several countries. There are several automotive manufacturers from Japan like Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Subaru, Mitsouka and Yamaha.

In the 1960s, the Japanese auto manufacturers brought out several cars, but that was in their local market. These cars were very small and carried small engines that delivered less horsepower. In Japan, even the average person was able to buy a car. So, this phenomenon boosted the car sales in the country, and it became a very common commodity to have.

The first Beetle was actually launched by a Japanese company called Subaru and the car model was Subaru 360. It was called the Lady Beetle. Then Volkswagen launched the official Beetle all over the world, so it became even more successful than its counterpart. Some of the other successful models made by Japanese automotive companies are Honda N360, Mazda Carol and Mitsubishi 500.

However, by the time these models came into existence, the Japanese automotive market had started its exporting business to England and then to United States of America. Most of the cars eventually were made to suit the American market. Every company from Japan started releasing models in the US to capture the share of the market.
