History of Snickers Candy Bar

Snickers candy bars, the king of chocolates, would have treated almost everyone throughout the world. Feel hungry between meals? Just munch a bar of Snickers, it provides a feeling of taste and full snack that satisfies your momentary hunger. In fact, it is one candy bar that is loved by everyone -- right from small toddlers to aging grannies and grandpas.

The candy bar gets its unique and distinctive taste because of its ingredients. It is made from peanuts, butter, and nougat. Then this delicious concoction is topped with roasted peanuts and caramel. And, finally the entire bar is layered with succulent milk chocolate.

Though Snickers is consumed and loved the world over, not many people know anything about the history of Snickers candy bar.

History of Snickers Candy Bar:

1930 - Snickers, originally called as Marathon candy bar, was manufactured by Mars Incorporated, in the UK and Ireland. The main individual behind this candy manufacture was Frank C. Mars and Ethel Mars, his wife.

1990 - Renaming of the Marathon bar was going on for some time. In the international circuit, it was being campaigned as Snickers. However, it was officially renamed Snickers in 1990.

2004 - Replacement for the original king-size Snickers bars was sought after, so as to go by the Food and Drink Federation rules and regulations.

2005 - Snickers bars were produced as double bar that could be shared. Basically, you could split the bar into two, and share it with friends, or save it for another break.
