Who Is The Only Us President Born On July 4 ?

There is just one US president who was born on July 4, the American Independence Day. This president was Calvin Coolidge, the thirtieth president. He was born in Plymouth Notch located in Vermont in the year 1872.

Coolidge was the first born child of John Calvin Coolidge Sr. and Victoria Josephine Moor. He had a younger sibling called Abigail Grace. However, his sister died when she was just fifteen years old due to tuberculosis and the death of Coolidge's sister occurred 6 years after Victoria Josephine died. Coolidge's father remarried later and spent his time servicing the public in Vermont. On the other hand, Calvin Coolidge relocated to Massachusetts where he spent time learning law initially and then practicing it. During this period, Coolidge got involved in politics and he steadily rose in this field. He was the councilman of the city, the solicitor for the city, representative in the state legislature, mayor for Northampton, senator, lieutenant governor and finally governor of the state of Massachusetts.

In the year 1920, Coolidge ran for the post of Vice President. During that time, not many official duties were given to the vice president. However, Coolidge's was quite popular in Washington because of his wife. And, in the year 1923, when the incumbent president Warren Harding died all of sudden due to heart attack, Calvin Coolidge was sworn in as the thirtieth president of the US. Coolidge became the president on 3rd August 1923. And, the following year, in 1924, Coolidge was elected as president.
