The Bronze Age Cycladic islands, goods and equipments were found which were revealed in the modern era period. However, during the Minoan period, a new society evolved and so did the communication between the Minoans and people from other Mediterranean countries.

Communication led to exchange of new ideas and culture which further influenced the Greece culture and tradition. Crete managed to lead the export sector with activities involving export of spices, skilled labor, oil, wine and jewels. They use to also import raw-materials and food. This led to the invention of first Merchant Navy in Crete. The volcano completely destroyed Crete around 1500 B.C. The Mycenaeans took advantage of this situation and took over Greece and the culture. Now the cities in Athens, Thebos, Lilkos, Pylos, Mycenae and Tiryns came under as one. The city and societies during Mycenaean period were quite large and the powers were with the elite class which consisted of war-chiefs.

Agriculture flourished to a great extent and wealth was unequally distributed. This continued till 1200 B.C and by the twelfth century, the Mycenae kings lost all their power and eventually the Dorian tribe took over Greece. Now there was a long gestation period during 1150-900 BC when the economic condition was adversely affected. The Geometric period which also constituted of the Greek Renaissance, brought in improved developments in the field of literature and art. The next was the archaic period which saw fundamental changes taking place in the social and political scenario. Now the Greeks began with colonizing and extended its dominance in Spain and North Africa. This was known as the Classical period.

Greece fell under the Ottoman Empire in 1453 and later under Athens in the year 1456. The Ottoman Empire flourished and expanded its roots all over Greece for the next 400 years and became independent only after the fall of Constantinople in 1832. Greece became a much developed nation and member of the NATO in the year 1952.Presently it is one of the important members of European Union.
