Brief History Germany

Germany, an independent country today existed as union of states mostly almost through the world history. The states of Germany battled against Napoleon’s army after the French Revolution. The 1st German Parliament was formed after the revolutions in 1848.

After it won the war in the French-Prussian war in the year of 1871, Germany was unified as a country that pushed forward the phase of economical, political and defense advancements, which brought it at par to the powerful nations like the UK. The ideologies of Bismarck that dominated the politics in Europe were established in the 2 decades that followed.

Subsequently, Bismarck had conflict with William II who was given the throne of the Kaiser, which led to the downfall of the Chancellor.

The downfall of the Hohenzollern dynasty in the First World War got the country divided into 2 as per the Versailles Treaty brought into force by the victorious nations.

The Weimar Republic was started after the defeat in the war. However, the constant economic crisis in its fourteen years of rule that finally led the German National Socialist Workers’ Party or the Nazi to take away the power and do away with democracy.

Germany reigned under the Nazi system for 12 years and had full control over Germany. As much as success it had in military in taking away the control in its hand over nations in Europe that included Belgium, the Balkans, Denmark, Greece, France, Luxemburg, Netherlands etc., it failed to succeed over Russia in the year 1941. Germany has been quick to recover from the economic crisis in 1950 and managed to rise to the third position in the world economically.
