History Of Bryan Adams
Bryan Adams was born on November 5, 1959 in Kingston, Ontario to English parents. Adams also has Maltese ancestry as his grandmother and great-grandmother were from Malta. Adams father was a diplomat and he has travelled the world over with his parents before they decided to settle down in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, in 1973. |

Even while he was in school, Adams pursued his music singlemindedly and at the age of 15, he dropped out of school to concentrate on his music. He played in nightclubs in bands like Shock and Sweeney Todd, which released an album with Adams as its lead singer. He supplemented his income by selling pet food, working in record stores and washing dishes.
Adams met Jim Vallance by chance in a Vancouver record store and this started a song writing partnership that continues even today.
At the age of 18, in 1978, Adams sent few demo tapes to A&M Recordings and ended up signing with them for a sum of one dollar. In 1980, he released a self-titled album and it became gold in Canada in 1986. Adams second album, You Want It You Got It, was released in 1981. However, it was only in 1983 with the release of his third album, Cuts Like A Knife, that Adams attained success with four hits.
For his contribution to popular music and his philanthropic work, Bryan Adams was awarded the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia. In 1998, he was inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame. He has been nominated three times for Academy Awards for his song writing and in 2007, he was nominated for the fifth time for Golden Globe Awards for writing the songs for the film Bobby.
