Famous People With Stds

Although we may know people around us who may have contracted STDs, very little is known about famous people with STDs. However, there are some famous people who are reported to have STDs and here is a brief list of them.

Famous People with STDs:

• Freddie Mercury, the lead singer for the band Queen, succumbed to AIDS-related complications in 1991. He was gay and most probably contracted the disease from one his partners. He revealed his HIV positive status to the public just a day before he died.
• Robin Williams, the famous Hollywood actor, was sued in 1986 by his ex-girlfriend for $6.2 million for infecting her with herpes.
• Michael Vick, the famous Atlanta Falcon quarterback, had to have an out of court settlement when he was accused of not telling a sex partner about having herpes.
• Liza Minnelli's husband, David Gest, claimed that she had genital herpes before marriage and did not inform him about it until after the marriage. This came out during their bitter divorce battle.
• Scott Joplin, the popular ragtime composer famous for works like Maple Leaf Rag and The Entertainer, died of complications related to terminal syphilis in 1917.
• Isaac Asimov, the famous science fiction writer, died of AIDS in 1990s. However, the truth about his disease only came out after his wife published his autobiography 10 years after his death.
