Paul Williams: Paul Williams, born on July 2, 1939, was an American singer. Williams is noted for being one of the founding member and original lead singer of the Motown group “The Temptation”. He suffered sickle cell anemia, which frequently wreaked havoc on his physical health.
Tim Shaw: One famous personality in Olympic history is Tim Shaw (Olympic Swimmer) who managed to win a silver medal in the 1976 games despite being diagnosed with severe iron deficiency anemia at the Olympic trials. Anemia is caused due to deficiency of iron. Though iron is stored only in small amount in our body, iron is an important element in red blood cell. When iron stores decreases the body cannot produce the red blood cells needed and iron deficiency anemia occurs.
Tsarevitch Alexei: Tsarevich Alexei N Romanaov was the youngest child and the only son of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia and Alexandria Feodorovna. He inherited hemophilia (Hemophilia is a genetic related blood disorder that makes the blood to take abnormally long time to clot) from his mother Alexandria, a condition which could be traced back to her maternal grandmother, Queen Victoria.
Mary Travers: Leukemia survivor Mary Travers was born in 1936. An American singer, Mary Traverse was the member of the folk music trio Peter, Paul and Mary. Mary Travers was diagnosed with leukemia in 2004 and after five weeks of chemotherapy she recovered from this deadly disease.
