Washington is the only state to be named after the first President of the United States, George Washington. It is the north-western state of United States and boasts many notable people who made their nation proud. Here are some famous people, for whom Washingtonians hold great regards for their works and achievements:

George Washington Bush: One of the early non-white American settlers in what is known as Washington; George Washington Bush was born in 1178 in Virginia. He earned his livelihood by working as a voyager and fur-trapper. While working as a trapper, he acquired key navigation skills and acquired knowledge of the Western region. The Bush family settled in the southwestern region of Puget Sound (Turnwater in today’s Washington). He participated in the war of 1812. He died on April 5, 1863.

Bill Gates: Bill Gates was born William Henry Gates on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington.  He was the son of William Gates, Sr., a famous lawyer, and Mary Gate, one of the directors of the First Interstate Bancsystem. Bill Gates graduated from the Lakeside School and joined the Harvard College in 1973. He certainly had no exact plan about his studies and career. In fact, his parents wanted him to be a lawyer. But Gates had different plans as he dreamt of becoming software giant. The release of the Intel 8080 CPU by Intel greatly influenced young Bill and, with a strong determination, he decided to start a software company. He partnered with Paul Allen and started Microsoft. A patent for his new software was received from the USPTO. Today, he is the one of the richest people in the whole world and one of the greatest entrepreneurs of the software industry.
