Warren Moon was born on November 18, 1956, in Los Angeles, California. He was the middle child in a family of seven children. At an early age he lost his father due to a liver disease. His mother brought him up along with his six sisters. Warren Moon liked football from early childhood and it became his passion. He even went as far as enrolling under a false address, at Hamilton High School, which had a better academic and athletic reputation than his neighborhood high school.
Warren Moon has excelled as a football player from his university days. After leaving the university he spent five years, from 1979 to 1983, in the Canadian Football League and led his team to win five glorious Grey Cups. In 1984, Warren Moon became a member of the NFL. He impressed everybody with his splendid performance and soon became the team’s opening quarterback. He is also the first oldest player to throw five touch downs in a game and a pass for 400 yards at the age of 40. He played for Huston Oiliers (1984-1993), Minnesota Vikings (1994-1996), Seattle Seahawks (1997-1998), and Kansas City Chiefs in the year of 1999-2000.
Warren Moon married twice. His first marriage did not come out successful after which he married Mandy Ritter in 2005. In his career, he and his family also suffered racial discrimination at the hands of fans when he was not doing well for his team. In the year 2000, his career as a player came to an end as he took retirement. He is currently a broad-caster with his longtime friend and agent, Leigh Steinberg at Leigh Steinberg Sports and Entertainment in California.
