Biography Of Laura Ingraham

Born on June 19, 1964, Laura Anne Ingraham grew up in a middle class family in Glastonbury. She graduated from the Glastonbury High School in 1981. In 1985, Ingraham earned a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and a law degree in 1991 from the University Of Virginia School Of Law in 1991. She was a staff member of an independent conservative newspaper, The Dartmouth Review, during her college years.

The late 1980s saw Ingraham working as a speechwriter for the Domestic Policy Advisor in the Ronald Reagan administration. She also served as a law clerk for Judge Ralph K. Winter, Jr. of the U.S. Supreme Court of Appeals and Clarence Thomas, the U.S. Supreme Court Justice. Her work as a private defense attorney at the New York-based law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate was quite appreciated.

On April 26, 2005, Ingraham announced that she had undergone breast cancer surgery. Her engagement with businessman James V. Reyes was cancelled citing issues regarding her diagnosis with breast cancer.

Her unsuccessful stints as a cable television host in the late 90s did not dampen her spirits as she launched her radio show, “The Laura Ingraham Show” in 2001. Currently syndicated by Talk Radio, the radio show airs throughout the United States. The Laura Ingraham Show is tied for fifth most listened talk show with average weekly listeners of 5.5 million. In 2008, Ingraham was rated as the sixth most popular radio show host by the Talkers Magazine.

In May 2008, Ingraham adopted a young girl from Guatemala, and named her Maria Caroline. She has also authored some books including Shut Up and Sing, and Hillary Trap published in October 2003 and December 2005 respectively.
