Can Athena Die ?
Athena is called the goddess of war, wisdom, arts, industry, skill and justice. She was favorite child of Zeus among all his children. She came out from the head of her father fully grown with the armor and helmet. Zeus was frightened that if Metis had a son, he would dominate him. So he turned Metis into a fly and swallowed her as soon as he lay with her. Thereafter, he hammered the great pain and the head was opened from which came Athena who was fully grown with mothers robe and helmet. |
As Athena did not have mother she was the favorite for Zeus. Zeus trusted only Athena and given her a magic shield and he told where the lightening bolts were placed. She was constantly a supporter, protector and promoted the interests by serving Zeus as an advisor.
She is portrayed with a spear with golden helmet with beauty. She was a Greek goddess who was known in the roles of diplomat, judge and mediator. She is known for her strategies, and Greek mythology says that she used to help many gods, goddesses and heroes in battles and impossible tests.
Athena came from the Olympus when the Trojan War began and she marched between the 2 armies and made both the side to swear oaths to maintain peace. But Pandaros, a Trojan soldier, out of his cowardice went against the oath and he let his arrow loose which led to the Trojan War.
As she was a Greek goddess, Athena cannot die.
