Greek Goddess Of The Earth  

The goddess of earth is called Gaia or Gaea. She is said to be the mother goddess and she was worshipped by the Greeks as a deity. She is highly respected in the Greek mythology and religion. It is believed that the life on the earth started on Gaia and is respected as a divine individual.

Gaia is the goddess of earth of the Greeks and chaos daughter. It is believed that she is the mother and wife of the sky, Uranus and the sea Pontus. As per the Greek mythology she is an ancient goddess who is considered as the mother of the gods. She nourished all things and she is also an important goddess in the Greek mythology. She is responsible in controlling the population on the earth.

Gaia was the mother of Potnus and Uranus with parthenogenesis. She later married both her sons for propagation. Hesiod in Theogony says that Uranus did not love any child whom he had with Gaia. He had 6 sons and daughters who were the Titans of the world. Tartarus is the place where Uranus caged his children. At the end Uranus was killed by one of his children Cronus.

The 12 Titans of the goddess of Earth are Phoebe, Oceanus, Rhea, Coeus, Cronus, Crius, Hyperion, Tethys, Iapetus, Theia, Mnemosyne and Themis. After Uranus died, Gaia gave birth to Echidn and Typhon who were Tartarus' children. She was responsible for making Aristaeus immortal.

Gaia had five children with Pontus named Nereus, Euybua, Thaumas, Ceto and Phorcys. The Greek goddess also had children named Alceto, Megare, Tisiphone, Erives, Meliads, Atlas, Python, Atlas, and Acheron.
