How Was Hades Born ?

According to Greek mythology, Hades is the god of the Underworld or the kingdom of the dead. The name Hades is also used to refer to the Underworld itself. Hades was the son of Kronus, the god of time, and Rhea, the mother god. Kronus and Rhea are the Titans who ruled the world before the other Olympian gods like Zeus. Even Zeus is the Titan’s son and he is also the sibling of Hades. Hades and Demeter were siblings.

Hades was born to his parents and he was a twin brother to Demeter actually. That is the birth story of Hades. He along with his two more brothers Zeus and Poseidon were sent to bring the titans out of the heaven. When the three brothers returned the heavens were split into three parts and among them Hades got the darkest part which is the underworld. However Hades is the god of riches and wealth. He rules over all the precious metals and other metals found in the core of the earth.

When Hades was born Kronus swallowed him and he also swallowed all oath children at their birth. However, Zeus somehow escaped and also gave him a potion that would make him vomit all other children who were swallowed at birth. When Kronus vomited Hades, along with him his other siblings came out. That is how Hades was reborn actually. All these gods rebelled against the Titans after that. Hades, Poseidon and Zeus controlled the universe after driving away the Titans, including their parents, away from the earth.
