Ares Family Tree  

Ares is considered as the Olympian god of war, manliness and battle lust. There are many gods in the Greek mythology who represent their own cause. Some are gods of bravery and some for love and others for lust. For every single quality and characteristic there is a god in Greek mythology. Most of the Greek gods have been born to gods. Some gods even had mortal children and they live don earth as heroes. Gods are worshipped for their qualities and their achievements in Greek mythology.

Like any other Greek god the children of Ares were linked only to him and all of them shared their warlike natures. Ares had his own family tree and members, and some of them are as follows:

Anteros is the god of love reciprocated
Phobos is the god of panic
Deimos is the god of fear
Alios is the war god
Eros is the god of love
Harmonia is the goddess of harmony

Ares, being the god of war, is an extremely destructive god. He is the son of Zeus and Hera. A tradition says that Hera conceived Ares by touching a flower called Ovid. Athena gives the strength to think clearly and represents thoughtfulness and wisdom in the vent of war. Ares is the god of force and power in war. He also causes tumult, confusion and own parents. Several other gods hated Ares because of his war mongering nature. Even his own parents hated him because he promoted so much war and caused blood shed. Some people call his the god of destruction.

Greek God :

Ares-Greek-God-Of-War-Mythology      Ares is known as the Olympian god of war and courage. Ares was not a preferred god according to Greek mythology and he was actually hated by several other gods. In the depictions Ares is pictured as a mature warrior who is in the arms of the battle. He has a beard and is nude holding a helm and a spear. He lacked clear attributes and also is quite difficult to identify in mythical art. More..
