Apollo is the Greek god of prophecies, and predictions. He was also the patron god of youngsters, the lord of games and arts. He also was the god of diseases and healing. Apollo is a very important god of Greek mythology, and is represented by many forms and symbols. Apollo was considered as the most beautiful god of all the Greek gods. He is all famous as the son of Zeus who defeated the ancient god Titans. He was an extremely popular god so there were several representations of him. |
One of them is the silver bow and arrow. It is one of the early symbols attached to him and it has been passed down for several generations. Apollo killed the serpent called python that harmed her through out her pregnancy. He was only a few days old when he achieved that. He used the silver bow and arrow for that.
Apollo is also represented a crown of laurel leaves. He was heart broken when Daphne refused to marry him. He always wore a laurel. He is also represented by the Lyre and is considered as a passionate lover mourning for his love when he plays the Lyre. He also used to entertain other gods with his lyre. Apollo is also represented by the Golden Chariot and is an important symbol of Apollo. He rides across the night skies in his golden chariot. Apollo has also some animal attributes like the wolf, dolphin, deer and swan. These animals also present music and therefore, Apollo is associated with them.
