Points Of Interest Of President Lyndon B Johnson  

There are several things of interest based on the 36th President of the United States, Lyndon B Johnson. Since he was the person behind one of the major wars fought by America in Vietnam, he has been featured in a lot trivia and eulogies.

He was mentioned in an anti war song called the Superbird that was sung by the country singer Joe and Fish. The line as mentioned in the song was "Lyndon Johnson Told the Nation".

A part of Lyndon Johnson’s speech was used by the Electric Flag for the opening of the Killing Floor.

An English Band called Enjoy Destroy has a song on Lyndon B Johnson. The song had the line that goes as: Hey,hey, LBJ, how many kids did you kill today?

Steven Stucky wrote a book called August 4, 1964, in celebration of the President’s100th Anniversary. The book concentrated on two main aspects of his presidency. The bombing of Vietnam, and the slaying of three civil rights workers were discussed.

Lyndon Johnson, as a president, was shown in good and bad light by the media on several instances. Several people considered him responsible for the killing of Martin Luther King, and people did not like the fact that he lied about Vietnam. Everyone in the United States wanted to end the Vietnam War because their own country was in such turmoil with the Civil Rights Movement. People were torn apart between serving the army in Vietnam and Civil Rights Movement within the country. However, after the assassination of Martin Luther King, there came a point were Lyndon had to withdraw from Vietnam as he had no other options left.
