The Declaration of Independence especially helped America in a big way to freedom, and also make it a slave free country. These were some of the early achievements of his Presidency. There were several more achievements too.

The major events during his Presidency were the American Revolution itself. Another major event was the French and the British war. John Adams wanted to secure the interests of America by staying out of the war. They were being used as pawns which were harming the interests of the country.

The Qasi War was another major event that America had to deal with when John Adams was the President. The French got angry with the British, and started seizing all the American ships that were trading with the British. John Adams sent a committee that was to negotiate a deal with the French. That is why the Marine Corps and the Navy were formed so that in case when diplomacy fails, then they can take over.
