His full name is William Jefferson Clinton, born on August 19, 1946 to Virginia Dell Cassidy, a nurse, and William Jefferson Blythe III, a traveling salesman who died in a car accident. Roger Clinton was his stepfather, who owned an automobile dealership. Clinton was an excellent student and was educated from Georgetown University.
In 1974, Clinton was defeated when ran for the House of Representatives. Remaining undaunted, he ran for Attorney General of Arkansas unopposed in 1976 and went on to become the youngest Governor of Arkansas in 1978. Defeated in the 1980, he returned to office in 1982. For the next decade in office, Bill Clinton established himself as the New Democrat, who could appeal to all Republicans and Democrats.
His term saw a great rise in the stock market.
